McNab Winery Summer Dinner

If you live in the Cincinnati area, you may be aware of the awesome events Dilly Deli in Mariemont hosts. This week was the McNab winery summer dinner with special guest, Jen Petrey. Jen was previously a native of Cincinnati and is now in her dream job as the Sales and Marketing leader for the California based winery. The event paired Dilly Deli select food items with the appropriate wines from McNab. To kick it off, all guests mingled amongst each other while sipping from a refreshing glass of 2016 Sauvignon Blanc while nibbling on seared scallops.

Once everyone took their seats, we were poured a light and slightly buttery glass of 2015 Chardonnay with an endive salad.

For the main course, we were served a charred rack of lamb with the 2013 Pinot Noir (which I HAD to purchase. It was a full bodied red with a very low level of spice- just the way I like it!)

And as a finale, we were offered a vanilla ice cream dessert served with spiced almond shortbreads, fig jam, and basil paired with the 2014 District One. This by far was mine and many other’s favorite pairing. And look how beautiful the plate is!

This event was quite a success! The food and drink pairings were perfect and well thought out. We also had the ability to purchase our favorites at the end, which I believe almost all of us did! So, if you are in Cali, find your way to McNab winery. I certainly will be!
